Color Days

Wow!  It is almost the beginning of a new school week and I am still exhausted!  I hope that your student was able to catch up on their sleep!  This week could feel long!

Their shining faces on yellow day was great!  First long day of the year!  We made it through and no one fell asleep!!!!  Tomorrow is ORANGE day!!  Hope you had a great weekend!

Well as you can guess today was RED day!  We did lots of activities with the color red and also the circle shape!  Here is a photo!

Day 1 - Kindergarten Craziness!

Hello!!!!  I would like to welcome my new viewers!!  If you have taken a look at last year's posts you can see we have a lot of work to do to be ready for 1st grade but I know we can do it!

Our first day was a little crazy.  We had lots of kids running around, the breakfast line was a mile long, and we got out of school early!  Thank you to all of the parents who let me know where their student was going after school!  This makes things sooo much easier!  Here are some photos of my NEW classroom and then all but two students who weren't at school today!!! 

This is the view from the door as well as our new addition... the turtles!  The kids love these two critters!

This is a picture of our math center, housekeeping center and lastly the library.  The students seemed to love the housekeeping center because of the endless possibilities! 

Here is the picture of our first PWIM poster.  We will be starting to label it tomorrow on Red Day.  I will be posting more PWIM activities as soon as we start doing them!!!

We can READ! We can READ!!!

I am just soooo proud of my kinders that I have been taking videos and pictures of students reading.  I hope that you enjoy hearing this even if they aren't yours!  We have been working really hard and they are ready for 1st grade!!

This is a video of my "green" group reading the story they chose to read for our viewers.  In this group you will see Skyler, Faith, Anahi, Tiffany, Cindy, and Sadishia.

In this video, Alexis is reading a book that we have read only a few times the day before.

In this video, Angel is reading another book that this group had recently put in their book box.  I try to not help them unless needed so that they can practice decoding on their own!

Happy Mother's Day!

WOW  it has been an extremely long time since I have updated our blog!  We have been working really hard on getting ready for 1st grade and we only have days left!   My first blog today is about Mother's Day.  Today we worked really hard on coming up with a list of reasons that we are very thankful for our moms....This is what they said

I would like to say THANK YOU for all of your support moms!!!!!  I know that this year would not have gone as smoothly without you!  We also constructed these...very carefully!

I hope that you are suprised when they give them to you on SUNDAY....A lot of them were very anxious and I could tell you were getting them today :)  Enjoy....

HMMM  I wonder what could be in these little bundles :)
