Miss Molly Teaches Us About Dentists, Hygienist, and Assistants

One day we had my sister Miss Molly Mills come in.  She is going to school to be a dental hygienist.  Part of her classwork is coming to schools and talking to kids about how to take care of her teeth.  This year she also showed us what the people wear in the dentist office so they don't have to be afraid when they go in!

They wear masks!

  They get to wear gloves!
She didn't have enough goggles but these are eye protective wear!

The kids learned a lot!   We were so glad that she came in!

Super Achiever Mariana

Yesterday when it was time to clean up to go home.  A friend asked another if he would help him pick up his toys.  This friend said "No.  I didn't play there."  So Mariana went and helped this friend even though she didn't play there either.  Thanks Mariana for being a GREAT friend!

Our First Official Retellings

We hope that you enjoyed these retellings.  A retelling is when we tell the main parts of a story in the order that it happened using props or ourselves to show.  The kids had a blast and all wanted to be taped to show you!

Super Achievers

Ernesto is a hard working student.  He did an awesome job at our writing task that we had one day.   I am so proud of the progress that he has made in his writing!

Eileen is a very responsible and trustworthy student.  I always know that she is going to bring her take home book back the next day so that she can get a new one and further her reading skills!

Angela is our FIRST Super Achiever in February.  We were doing a pretty hard writing on hedgehogs.   A lot of friends didn't get done with their writing because they were talking and not working.  Angela wrote the whole time and had an awesome writing to show for it!

100th Day of School!

The students were SUPER excited about this day and we have been counting down for awhile!  We made really cool hats that had 100 things on them (if they didn't fall off!).

They were really proud of their hats.  We were also very proud to announce that Madison has been here all 100 days of school!  For this she got a certificate and a picture on our blog!  She must wash her hands REALLY good because she was never sick!  :)

Last but not least....we wanted to show all of you that we can count to 100 in three different ways!   Here you go!

We hope you enjoyed our videos!

Until next time......

Meet Our New Student!

Meet Mia!!!  She came all the way from Alaska!  We are so excited to get to know her and see what she can show us!

Our Favorite Symbols of America

Today we did a writing about what our favorite symbol was in the United States.  Before we wrote we created a web on the SmartBoard of all of the symbols that the students could remember us talking about.  When I was drawing on the Smart Board the students were drawing and writing the same web on their clipboard and paper.  They had a lot of fun with this and we got a LOT of great writings!  Here are the students with their writings.  Some of them you can read...others you can not because of the picture!
