Pumpkins Pumpkins Everywhere!

With our pumpkins from our pumpkin patch trip we got to carve it.  We had to take a vote on whether the pumpkin was going to be a girl or a boy pumpkin.  Then we had to vote on a name.  Here was the choices:  Sara, Erica, Darica, and Jack.  Sara was the name of our pumpkin and then we had to vote on how we were going to carve her.  The best part was cleaning out the pumpkin!
The next day we got to try pumpkin pie and pumpkin seeds!  What a hit :)
The Five Little Pumpkin poem will be coming home tomorrow!

Our Real Fire Station Trip!

We had a lot of fun!  The kids were full of great questions and we got to see a lot of cool things!  I am glad that we finally got to go!

Super Achiever

Here are the past 3 weeks of Super Achiever!  These girls have done a wonderful job being leaders in the class!
Can't wait to see who will be next!

A Cute Little Poem

Daily some of my students are pulled to help them learn more of the english language.  Mrs B.B. came in to show us what some of the students have been working on.  Here is the poem....

Can't wait to see more of what these kiddos can do!

Working Together

First of all, I would like to thank all of the parents and students that came to visit me during conferences!  Lately we have been working on working together.  To encourage this, we got into groups and then put some puzzles together!  Our next goal will be cleaning the puzzle shelf off...wowzers!

We are still working on this concept.  But really...aren't we all?!

Meet The Newest Kinder-Members

Meet Ernesto.  He has been on our roster since the beginning but he was lucky and on vacation!  He is very knowledgable with his letters and sounds and brings a laugh to our room!
Meet Mariana!  She is from the sunshine state of Florida!  We are very excited to have her in our class!  We now have 14 girls and 6 boys.  Mariana is full of stories and things to share!  Some of the kids can't wait to show her what snow is!  As for me....I can wait for snow!

Welcome friends to kindergarten!!!

The Fire Station.......or just bus ride :)

Well.  On Friday October 7th, we were supposed to take a tour of the fire station to inform our students about these wonderful community helpers.  Mrs. Hoffard's class was supposed to go first then us.  We got a call after Mrs. Hoffard had gone to the fire station saying that they had been called out on a field fire and to wait.  So we did.....and then we got the call to head out.

While waiting at the station....we got to work on some coloring books that they were supposed to get after our tour.  The kids loved these books and didn't mind waiting.
Claire is always willing to smile....and wait patiently.  We waited until we couldn't anymore.  No tour for this bunch but they were excited just to go to the station and see that it was close to the high school.  If we should go...I'll have more exciting pictures next time!  Remember STOP, DROP, and ROLL should you catch on fire.  And CRAWL LOW UNDER SMOKE should there be a fire in your house or building!

Super Achiever

Meet Jude!  He is our Super Achiever for the week!  Jude and I have been working on writing his words forwards "JUDE" instead of "EDUJ".  This has been tricky because he is left handed!  I would like to send an extra shout out to all you leftys!!!!!!  I'm sorry it was so difficult for you to learn things...and use things now a days!  So since Jude wrote his name twice without me reminding him...I knew we had made progress!  GREAT JOB JUDE!!!!!

Pumpkin Patch

We are ready to go!

On the hayrack...getting instructions...and VERY excited to pick our pumpkins!

Keira and I are enjoying our ride.  We got to talk about what beans are, what the straw is used for, and what corn was!

Joanne found a baby pumpkin and had to keep it :)
We learned what a scarecrow was....and had to join him in the patch.

We also got to pet a baby pony....

and play with a pool of corn!

but we sure did enjoy our trip to the pumpkin patch!

The students also enjoyed riding on the bus.  It was really neat to get to take these kiddos to the pumpkin patch and introduce them to a whole lot of new things!  Can't wait for the trip to the firestation on Friday!
